How to own land in Uganda
In Uganda land can be owned through different ways which include but are not limited to inheritance, Purchases, Rewards among others.

A. Purchase
The common ways through which one can own own land in Uganda, this involves looking for a property company, Dealers or brokers that link you to the potential seller or vice versa and then after a few step and due diligence to ensure proper ownership in order to avoid fraudsters or any other unforeseen circumstances that may cause a financial loss to either parties. This is also required by the laws of Uganda as per the Land Act amended 2006, it instructs(or puts an obligation to) the potential buyer to carry out the relevant due diligence before entering any land transactions.

- Land/Site Visit
It is very important that after identifying a competent Company to lead you through all purchase processes, land/site is visited for proper decision making and this will also guide in the valuation process so as to determine the proper value of the land in regard to the asking price from the company or owner of this piece of land.

- Land Title Search.
This is a step that is most crucial when determining proper ownership of land in Uganda. It is only done from the Uganda Land Registry Office at a cost. It is prudent that it is done by an experienced Lawyer, Property Company in order to get proper and authentic search results.
- Boundary Opening
This is the final crucial step to be taken before entering the final steps of a land transaction. It involves using a certified Surveyor or a registered company to fully establish the size, location and shape of the land in question. It also helps to find out whether there are any enchantments on the land before a transaction is given a green light.

C. Reward/Gift
This is where ownership is changed as a way of reward or gift to the new ownership. This is so common in scenarios where Land is given as a token of appreciation.
